Moroccan food is amazing. But don't just enjoy the taste! Take the whole experience back home with you by learning to cook Moroccan style with our own master chef, Fatim-Zahra...

The cookery classes are conducted by our trained chef Fatim-Zahra, who will assist you as you learn to cook a range of tasty recipes. The day starts with a tour of Mellah market, where you'll be guided on which fresh vegetables, spices and other ingredients you'll need to create the mouth-watering dishes. There is a wonderful range of organic fresh vegetables plus amazing olives, nuts, fruit, spices and fresh fish straight from the Atlantic. The cookery classes take place on the roof terrace of Riad Africa, with views across Marrakech, or on the poolside terrace of Kasbah Africa, with views across the majestic Atlas Mountains.

Upon arriving, enjoy a cup of fresh mint tea in a traditional ceremony, before embarking on your gourmet adventure. You'll learn to cook at least two dishes, such as briouat, pastilla and a spicy cooked salad and a tagine. You'll prepare couscous to perfection, as well as kneading dough and baking traditional Moroccan bread. Our traditional method of cooking is in a clay tagine - slow-cooked and full of flavour. The recipes are endless but our signature dish is a spice Fez chicken tagine. The classes are interactive and personalised to make sure everyone gets the best out of them, with a  choice of daily workshops with up to ten people or privately tailored groups. After indulging in your three-course lunch with wine in the restaurant, you'll take home valuable lessons, allowing you to recreate your favourite dishes at home. You can then go for a dip in the pool to cool off before being transferred back to your riad or hotel.
